Visas

Single or multiple entry-visas can be obtained from this Embassy within a minimum time of 24 hours. For either category, the maximum duration of visa is between three and twelve months. Applicants for visas are requested to clearly indicate the number of entries desired. However, the final decision to issue visas or otherwise rests with the Embassy.

A single entry visa is valid for entry into Ghana within 3 (three) months i.e., applicants will have to reapply for new entry visas to be issued if previously issued visa is not utilized within three (3) months from the date of issue.

Multiple entry-visas endorsed for one year (12 months), for example, mean that the applicant is granted unlimited entries into Ghana within 12 (twelve) months. It does not entitle the applicant to enter and remain in Ghana for 12 months. In both cases (single and multiple), the actual period permitted for stay in Ghana shall be determined by the Immigration officials at the point of entry into Ghana, which is usually sixty (60) days.If an applicant desires to stay longer than the given period, he or she is advised to extend the duration of his stay at the Ghana Immigration Service, in Accra.

Requirements for visa applicants

Applicants should be of Serbian, Montenegro, Romanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian nationality or be officially resident in any of the aforementioned countries.

Each applicant must necessarily have the following documents:

Business visas

Should be submitted with a letter (in English) from your company guaranteeing stay in Ghana and stating the reasons for your visit. Two (2) references are required. Please supply the names and addresses of your business Associates and their companies as your references in Ghana. Hotel may be used only as a second reference.

Visitors/tourist visas

Names and addresses of two (2) references are required, one of which can be a hotel where the applicant will lodge.

Study visas

Should be accompanied by a letter (in English) from your college administrator or your professor, stating the reasons for your visit and your sources of financial support whilst in Ghana. You should also provide a letter of acceptance from the institution to which you will be attached during your practical training in Ghana. Please use the name and address of the institution in Ghana as your reference.

Employment

Should be submitted with an employment contract, and proof of grant of employment quota in Ghana. Two (2) references are required, one of which should be the company or organization you will be working for whilst in Ghana.

Children travelling on parents passport

Parents should submit separate set of application forms on behalf of each child.

Visit by road from a foreign country

(e.g. EUROPE: Applicants should travel with the following documents: (an international driver’s license, custom’s entry permit for the vehicle, a bank guarantee or an international insurance covering the repatriation of applicant should the need arise).

Vaccinations

All visa applicants must have international vaccination cards against yellow fever (Ghana observes health regulations for immigrants as prescribed by the World Health Organisation). Practically though, it is necessary for all persons entering Ghana to be vaccinated against yellow fever.

Visas by post

Visa applications by post should be sent by registered mail.

Visa fees

Visa Fees are: Three (3) months single Business/Tourist visa - Fifty (50) Euros. Twelve (12) months multiple business visa – Hundred (100) Euros.

Transit visas

Single and Multiple transit visas are issued. Both types are valid for three (3) months, effecting from the date of issue. Duration of stay in Ghana as regards the two categories is 48 hours. However, Ghana Immigration officials in your point of entry have the overall jurisdiction.
