Hotel accommodation is readily available in 3 to 5 star hotels. Guest houses abound both the capital city and other regions within the country. Very moderatly priced accommodation is available at the three university campuses in Accra, Cape Coast and Kumasi during hoildays; Christmas, easter, summer vacation. (june-september)
Host-Based Visits: In the past it has been possible to obtain accommodation in outlying villages by negotiating with the Headman. A new venture, Insight Travel, offers visitors the opportunity of staying with Ghanaians and sharing village activities such as working on the family farm, learning local music or dance, and participating in community events. Excursions can also be arranged.
Camping: Camping in national parks is encouraged, but only for the very adventurous, as it can be dangerous. In game reserves visitors must be accompanied by an armed guide.
